Toowoomba is
known as the city of gardens and so we did some exploring of the gardens today.
We had noticed that there are many lovely parks and gardens all around
Toowoomba and our caravan park actually backs onto a magnificent park with a
creek, walking track and exercise equipment. Our first stop on the “tourist
drive” was the beautiful Toowoomba Japanese Gardens. The gardens were designed
in a traditional way and although we were probably not seeing them at their
best being Winter, we still thought that they were very impressive. Following
this stop we did a short heritage walk around the main town centre admiring the
architecture of the early building of Toowoomba. We then visited the Cobb and
Co Museum and the display of early coaches and information about the Cobb and
Co days was very well presented. We finished the day with a drive to a lookout
which gave excellent views of both Toowoomba and the Great Diving Range.
