We had a
pretty uneventful day, travelling from Armidale to Toowoomba, passing through
Tenterfield. Of course I had to start singing “Tenterfield Saddler” and Rob had
no idea what I was on about until I found it on you-tube and played it for him.
We did find out yesterday during our bus tour of Armidale, that Peter Allen was
born in Tenterfield but moved to Armidale when he was only a baby. The old
hotel in Armidale where he did his first paid performance was pointed out to us
during the tour. We arrived safely in the rather large town of Toowoomba in the
early afternoon and visited the tourist information centre to plan our days
ahead. Two things happened today, we crossed the border into Queensland and at
one stage of our drive it was warm enough to need the air conditioner on!
