This morning
we drove the short distance from Narrandera to Wagga Wagga. We had decided to
revisit Wagga Wagga after our brief one night stay in February. We had stayed
in a lovely park where guests received a very warm welcome from the owners and
it was clear that the owners, Richard and Teresa were doing all they could to
improve the park and make people’s stay a memorable one. After settling in we
drove into the centre of Wagga Wagga and visited the Information centre where
we were able to find some enjoyable things to do from a very helpful young
woman. We went for a walk into the main shopping area of Wagga, passing some
magnificent old Churches…..that were all in one street together called Church
Street. After a quick bite to eat I decided to do a heritage walking trail of
the numerous old homes and buildings close to the centre of town. Rob had to
make some phone calls about the caravan so he returned to the car to do this. I
thoroughly enjoyed the walk as some of the buildings and homes dated back to
the 1860s. Many had been beautifully restored. Later in the afternoon we
visited the Botanic Gardens before returning to our caravan park where our host
put on a “meet and greet” for all the people in staying in the park.
