Day 10 Sunday 21st July, From freezing to a Warm Reception

Leaving Bathurst this morning, things were a little on the cool side. It was -1 degree and there was a fair bit of frost about. The weather has been fine for us so far but we’ve only had a few days over 15 degrees. Well today that changed. As we drove through the Blue Mountains the temperature rose and by the time we reached our friend’s home in the town of Kurri Kurri it was 22 degrees so we were pretty happy about that. We called in to this lovely town to catch-up with our friends that we had met on our China trip earlier in the year. It was great to see them again and they took us to a delightful spot for afternoon tea, The Hunter Valley Gardens. This area had a huge variety of cafĂ©, shops and wineries, set in beautiful surrounds and only 15 minutes or so from their home. The Hunter Valley is certainly a spot that we would love to visit again and spend some more time. After say our goodbyes to Lyn and Paul we took a short drive to Cessnock where we are spending the night.
The map is updated.

Helen forgot the take the roll of paper towel down before we set off. At lunch we were greeted by this.
