This morning
we visited the small town of Hawks Nest, calling in to see some very picturesque
beaches as well as stopping at a lovely café for coffee and a shared muffin. We
drove a little further on to the lovely town of Tea Gardens and Rob thought I
might be able to kayak from our camp at Myall to Tea Gardens for the afternoon.
Well the challenge was accepted. On the way back to Myall Camp we collected
some fire-wood as we wanted to have a fire at night. After lunch I set off kayaking.
I had a head wind but it was not very strong and also I was working against an
incoming tide. All things considered it wasn’t too difficult and after an hour
and a half of paddling I arrived at Tea Gardens. Rob had driven there and
greeted me. After a loo stop I said that I was pretty sure I could make it back
for the on my own so hopped in the kayak and headed back. The trip back was
quicker because I had the wind and tide assisting me for the first part and
then it was so beautifully calm for the latter part. I arrived back at the camp
safely and we started up our fire and watched the sun set. It was a great way
to finish the day off.
