Day 15 Friday 26th July, Making a nest at Hawks Nest

Another short drive to the north, bypassing Newcastle brought us to a delightful bush camp called Myall River Camp, located in the area of Hawks Nest. This is a bush camp so we don’t have electricity or water. There is plenty of rain-water available and good drinking water. The toilets are compositing long drops that don’t use chemicals or water. I was pleasantly surprised when I visited the loo as they are not smelly and fully tiled and clean. We have the most beautiful position right on the river front. I went for another glorious kayak lasting nearly 3 hours. We have been told that dolphins swim right past this area but during my long kayak they didn’t visit. Maybe tomorrow. This is a stunningly beautiful setting with lots of lovely walks through natural bush and fantastic kayaking opportunities. We have booked in for 2 nights so we are looking forward to another relaxing day around the river, tomorrow.
