We had a
late start enjoying the beautiful garden and friendly dogs who ran from the
homestead as I approached the gate. I went into the brilliantly restored homestead
to fix up our account and it was just stunning. The huge timber kitchen had a
magnificent, old wood stove in it that Dianne and Ian used to warm the home and
cook on. We travelled from Lake Paika to
Narrandera without any incidents. It was very much on the cool side but once we’d
settled into the caravan park at Narrandera, we went for a lovely drive
checking out the Murrumbidgee River and many of the old historical buildings of
Narrandera.
PS. Rob came to the help of a fellow traveller this morning. We stopped for morning coffee at a roadside rest area and a car and caravan pulled in, the guy knocked on the van and asked if we had diesel he could buy as he worked out he wasn't going to make it to the next town. With 20 litres in his tank, off he went, smiling and happy.
