We spent
most of today exploring the Cobbold Village. Tomorrow we will be going on the
Cobbold Gorge Tour with a guide. The only way you can view the Gorge is to do a
guided tour. We went bush walking this morning combining two short walks
together to make a longer walk. We saw many butterflies and kangaroos but not
too many other fauna. After lunch I went for a kayak on the dam. Kayaks were
supplied for free by the owners of the village so we didn’t need to get my
kayak off the roof of the vehicle. It was a short but pleasant kayak and I was
able to observe birdlife and many thirsty kangaroos that had come to the dam to
drink. Most of the roos were quite small but I did see one that was huge! I’m
pretty sure it was as tall as Rob and it had more muscles than him! Returning
back to the caravan after my kayak I saw a rather large goanna just strolling
around the village. Later in the afternoon we enjoyed another swim in the
infinity pool. We finished the day with a drive out to Quartz Blow Lookout to
watch the sun set. We had taken drinks and nibbles and enjoyed watching the
sunset from such a remote location.
