We were
booked into a guided cave tour for 1.30pm so we spent the morning exploring
some other caves and places of interest. Our first stop was The Archways. This
was a semi-open cave system and was spectacular and easy to walk around with
only a little bit of clambering over rocks involved. Following this we visited
Mungana Aboriginal rock art before visiting the old cemetery and site of the
abandoned town of Mungana. After this we drove to The Royal Arch Cave and had
some lunch before we were met by our tour guide. Again we thoroughly enjoyed
this tour which took us through a labyrinth of passages and caverns. We were
given hand-held lamps and found these caves different to others we have seen in
the past due to the fact that they were dry caves. We really are blown away
with some of the things we have seen at this tiny place. After our tour we
returned to the town and popped into the pub for a drink. The owners were
lovely people and Rob and I were the only people in the pub until another older
couple from New Zealand called in. They were very interesting and had done a
lot of travelling so we all chatted for quite a while. We returned to the Eco
Lodge and decided that it was warm enough to have a swim in the lovely pool.
